Please advise with a product for blackspot on my roses. I know they discontinued Funginex (that ALWAYS worked) and I guess Ortho Rose Pride too. Neem oil seems to burn even when mixed and applied according to directions. I use an early morning spraying routine. Thank you for any help.
You have several options. However, for the best control is to combine a systemic fungicide, e.g., Myclobutanil or Propiconazole, with in the same spray tank, a contact fungicide such as Mancozeb in hot weather or Daconil in the cooler weather of the spring and fall (Daconil will damage leaves on certain roses like Double Delight). If you only have a handful of roses a drench product might be useful.
Thank you so very much for the information. We currently have 29 rose bushes that range from hybrid teas to shrubs to climbers. I have 1 l can’t identify but this is a shrubs or rambler. It suckers like crazy and only blooms (profusely) in the spring. My cousin gave me a piece of it and she said it was in her husband’s Aunt’s yard for 50+ years. My cousin is in her 80s and the rose bush has been in Aunt Peach’s yard since her daughter was born. Her daughter is almost 60.
Anyway, I sincerely thank you for the information. I’ll start treatment this week. God bless.
Next time that large climber rambler blooms next spring post some pictures. We might be able to help identify it.
