I’m hopping to learn about others’ pest control and fertilizing systems/schedules.
This is my first year planting roses in my garden. I have 3 climbers and 9 shrubs (7 potted, 2 in-ground), mostly hybrids and floribundas. All are very young own root plants in full sun in my 5b garden.
Thus far, I’ve observed some leaf loss that looks like a mix of caterpillars, katydids and sawfly larvae. More recently, I’ve noticed some yellowing that looks like rust. I’m wary of spraying anything with Neem oil as I’m scared of burning the plants. Curious what specific products other use to control insects and fungus.
I’ve also fertilized my young plants with a fish emulsion every 6 weeks or so, which I’ve been pleased with so far.
