Crown gall photos on dortmund for diagnosis

hi. i am new to rose gardening. i have a 2 year old Dortmund rose from a rosarian at a nursery in southern Maine. i noticed this on one of the canes at the bottom of the plant and am wondering if i should be worried about gall. please help.

Welcome to our forum. It could be. Can you get in touch with person who gave you the rose and have them look at it? If you want to be cautious, cut the cane to the base, below the bump. Buy some ferti*lome fire blight powder (it is an antibiotic). Spray (double the dose amount listed on the label) the cut cane and surrounding soil. Be sure to disinfest your pruners with Lysol or soak in 70% alcohol. If possible, take the cane as soon as possible to your local state extension office and get it diagnosed.
