Do these Roses have Rose Rosette?

These roses are showing odd growth. Is it RRD?

It is hard to tell for sure. Are the other rose canes on that bush rather thorny or smoother? Have you seen rose rosette in your neighborhood? If you want to be cautious, cut that cane down to the base and bag it. Spray the bush with bifenthrin or Forbid. Watch the new growth, if it grows abnormally fast and distorted time to dig it out. If you can, take the cane you cut and bring it to your local state extension service and have them test it for the virus. ( This probably won’t be free.). Go to roserosette.org for more information.

It looks like new growth to me. But keep an eye on it as it gets taller. I have canes with this new type of growth on my roses especially now during drought and scorching summer.
