Grasshoppers oh my!

The grasshoppers are added again on my Eden rose climber. I have 45 other roses and those grasshoppers do not eat anything off of the other roses, but Eden has been stripped of all its new growth I have been catching and killing however they’re hard to see I do have a product similar to nolo bait coming from the forest service so I have hope. What does anyone have? Any idea why only this rose is being attacked by grasshoppers? Thank you for your

Birds are the best defense against grasshoppers and katydids. They LOVE them and will clean them out quickly. Perhaps where the Eden is growing is in a location the birds don’t feel as safe feeding? Spinosad can be safely sprayed to help control grasshoppers and katydids. It’s one of the less toxic, “safer” “pesticides” you can apply. Google it and see if it seems like something you want to use.

Good idea to encourage birds to hang out close to your roses. Although if the bird food is super yummy, they may prefer that. lol. Maybe set up a birdbath or even a saucer of fresh water. Is your Eden short enough to cover with netting? Or just spray the grasshoppers and kill them. If you have an insect loving grandchild, you can pay them a Penny or nickle for each grasshopper they capture.
