Hi Everyone. I have a own root mini flora climber that is not looking good. I have looked carefully at the leaves and don’t see bugs on it. The remainder of roses in my garden look great with healthy green foliage. Should I get rid of it? Interested in your thoughts.
Not all of the leaves look like they might be infected with a mosaic virus. Have you seen any insects or spider mites underneath leaves? (Looks like you haven’t seen any bugs, but can you examine the bottom of the leaves with a hand lens?). Has it been unusually hot for you? What does the newest growth look like? As I’m sure you know, sometimes a rose will display virus symptoms, especially during the heat of summer, and then the virus seems to go ‘dormant’ and the new leaves look normal. If the rose continues to grow well I would keep it, however if it continues to grow poorly then time to shovel prune and buy a new rose.
Many deficiencies in early summer from leaching out or the plant using up available food sources do look like mosaic. I don’t think this is mosaic at all.
