Hi, Minflora is a fairly new designation for roses that are typically larger than a typical mini (about 12-18") but still smaller than a typical floribunda ( 3-4’ ). Also this designation takes into consideration the size of the foliage - bigger than typical mini foliage and smaller than typical floribunda foliage. IIRC this designation came about as roses were being registered as “minis” that were larger than expected for a mini. These roses really did not fit the typical mini size nor the typical floribunda size. SO what to do with them and how to register them?? These rose were registered as “minis” until this category was created especially for them. I have forgotten exactly when this occurred but this is what I can can remember without referencing any materials. No doubt someone else has more information about this category but this is the basic reasoning for the new “miniflora” designation as I understand it. HTH.

I agree. Great idea! It would be great to know who has which rare/hard to find mini and how they got it. Did they get it from the original grower/hybridizer? I am fairly certain that I have ‘Sweet Caroline’ from Michael Williams. Does anyone else grow it? i think it would be great to start another post/thread asking people to post about the possibly rare or hard to find minis they grow.
