please help me identify this pink rose with small thorns multiple blooms
Queen Elizabeth is a grandiflora so she does exhibit clusters of bloom. There are soooo many pink roses. How long have you had it and do you know where, grower, it came from?
Thanks ,I bought this house with it so it is probably 25 years old. I don’t know where it came from, but I it may be Weeks . other classic roses that were here were Polka and Fragrant Cloud. The small thorns near the blooms are not like the smooth stems of QueenElizabeth and there are hardly any single blooms
Is it fragrant? Can you post a few close up pics?
I
t has a faint fragrance and slight yellow at base of petals . it is pink but lighter on the edges . I would like to post another picture but not sure I can, because im a new member I'll try thanks RickAfter extensive research on the internet I’m pretty sure that this is a Queen Elizabeth Rose , maybe a David Austin
Not a David Austin. The bloom is spectacular for sure. Can you take a picture of the stem from first leaves to bottom of bloom. You mentioned that it is not smooth. Queen Elizabeth does have a smooth peduncle. I have been looking up many pink hybrid teas, like Bewitched, Also, look up Bride’s Dream, and Tournament of Roses.
just below the bloom is slightly thorny below that it is smooth
I think the blooms are too large for tournament of roses
thanks again
rick
I think Bewitched is more fragrant, Brides Dream is a possibility but may have larger blooms
Look up Chicago Peace, First Prize, ……
Thanks for all your suggestions
im not sure , maybe Tournament of Roses
I’ll just have to live with not knowing ,and enjoy the rose!
