I am new to this forum and new to roses. I have a Red Eden climbing rose, and the flowers were looking very good for past couple weeks; healthy and red. But within two weeks, all the flowers red petals turned lighter and looks like they are drying up. Please see picture. Something wrong?
There are many reasons flower petals begin to deteriorate. First, everything in Nature is programmed to reproduce itself before it dies to perpetuate its species. Flowering is ovulation, hip/seed set is pregnancy so the flower petals are fragile and not meant to last forever. Heat, sunlight, water all cause aging of the petal tissues. Flower thrips as well as Chilli Thrips damage flower petals and new growth. There are fungal and bacterial pathogens which also attack flower petals.
Has the weather gotten hotter, drier and/or windier in the past two weeks? Those conditions will damage petals. Have there been heavier than normal dews or fogs? That kind of extra moisture on flower petals can cause damage. Does anything so far sound like possible issues you might be encountering?

Thank you for your feedback! You are correct, it got warm suddenly, so it sounds like that is the cause of the issue.
Roses should be deadheaded as they fade so that reblooming occurs.
With cared for climbers, you should have prolific spring bloom, light summer bloom cycle because of heat and then moderate to full bloom cycle in the fall. Keep paying attention to what the bush is telling you and growing!

Welcome to the forum Joe. It looks like your climber is in a container. How tall and wide is the container? You may need to water more especially because container grown roses dry out much faster.
