Hi Rose Crew! Please help: looking for any gardens or yards that might still harbor the cultivar called Sweet Perfume? Or any seed libraries that might still have this type? It was a variety sold at Armstrong’s from about 20ish years ago. The one in my yard is still going strong and tall yet starting to show signs of vulnerability. I’ll have to transplant due to construction, yet I hope to cultivate backups with healthy cuttings. Just in case, I hope this variety still exists in some gardens.

Something you might consider is providing bud wood to Steve Singer at Wisconsin Roses for him to custom bud it to seedling multiflora. He then sends you “maidens”, started bud plants where you then have to cut back the stock above the bud to force the bud to grow. It’s all explained here on his web site. https://wiroses.com/
If your Sweet Perfume is the Colin Pearce variety from 1986, it’s well out of any patent there may have been so there are no issues propagating it. 'Sweet Perfume' Rose
If you, or anyone else is trying to resurrect any older rose and need it custom budded, please contact Steve. I’ve had him bud Grey Pearl, Cl Columbia and Annie Laurie McDowell for people wanting the roses but couldn’t find them otherwise. He’s even budded a virus indexed Gloire de Dijon he’ll be sending me in the fall. All he needs is appropriate bud wood, which he can describe to you via email and he’ll do the rest. Good luck!
